We’ve previously announced that we’re bringing back the Indie Game Magazine, but now we have some additional information in preparation for our relaunch on April 1. Specifically, we’ve organized an all-day event to celebrate! Consider this your official invitation:
The first aspect of that event is a 24-hour live stream Marathon that will be hosted on our Hitbox channel. A number of Indie GamePlay StreamTeam members have volunteered their time to play sponsored games, as well as a few of their favorite indie titles, in celebration of the Magazine’s relaunch. Beginning Monday evening at midnight EDT all the way through until Tuesday evening at midnight, we invite you to come by and check out some great indie games on stream, and chat with the IGM community. We hope you’ll be able to join us for a bit during the Marathon to catch some gameplay glimpses of titles included in our sponsor list above.
The second aspect of the event is the Magazine relaunch itself. As we’ve mentioned before, the debut April issue will be published using a pay-what-you-want payment model. You will have to register for an IGM account – accessible from the Magazine splash page that will be available beginning April 1 – to access the April issue, but you will not have to pay for it. However, should you choose to be an early adopter and subscribe to the Magazine for $2.50/month, or otherwise support us by purchasing a year’s subscription up front at the value price of $25.00 for the year, you will receive a promo code donated by one of our sponsors, while supplies last. We have ~1,000 codes to give away (that’s right, ONE THOUSAND CODES), but if you’d like to receive a promo code, be sure to act fast! Since the event is so massive, I want to break down how the codes will be distributed. (We will update the splash page in real-time on launch day so people can see where we’re at on the list.) Codes for a single sponsor will be given away until we run out, and here is the order of distribution:
